Most health insurance plans are either a PPO or an HMO plan. It’s important to know what type of plan you have and understand how this affects your healthcare benefits.

If you have a PPO, you will save money by going to doctors, urgent care centers, and specialists that are in your network. If your insurance is not accepted by a healthcare provider, you will pay much more for your care. Be sure to ask if your insurance is accepted before treatment.

If you have an HMO, you must choose a primary care doctor from a list of covered providers. This doctor will treat you and must give you a referral if you need to see a specialist. However, in most cases you can go to an Urgent Care Center such as Integrity Urgent Care or the emergency room without a referral. Integrity Urgent Care is excited to announce that it now accepts Blue Cross Blue Shield Advantage HMO insurance.

If you do not have medical insurance, it’s important to choose doctors and other healthcare providers that have affordable rates for patients paying cash. Integrity Urgent Care offers competitive cash payment options for our patients without insurance or with high deductible insurance plans.

Regardless of your insurance plan, you will always save money by visiting an urgent care center instead of an emergency room for non-emergency illnesses and injuries. Copays at an urgent care center such as Integrity Urgent Care are much less than those at an emergency room. Many emergency clinics also will send three bills – one for the visit, one for the facility, and one for the doctor.  At Integrity Urgent Care, you will only receive one bill. Integrity is open from 8 am – 8 pm every day and no appointment is ever needed. Call us today for more information at 979-703-1832 or come by and see us.
